NY Daily News--Haven't you heard of George Mitchell? How about "The Media Will Push for Joba to Close?"
NY Daily News' Bob Raissman:
- "This would come as no surprise. Already, there is a stench surrounding "60 Minutes" interview with Clemens. Wallace is Clemens' designated interviewer - hand-picked like a bag of Fritos off a 7-Eleven shelf."
- The word "hate" is overused and misused today and Mr. Raissman joins in, same article:
- "To cash in on this crowd, it would actually help Clemens if Wallace digs in and badgers him. Even a whispered challenge can fuel the hatred much of the public already has for the media."
- First, someone hires a media member such as Mr. Raissman. That process isn't vetted by me or anyone I trust. Therefore, I don't assume any media member has the right to speak authoritatively on a given subject. It doesn't involve "hatred," it's just a fact.
- For example--the "media" openly states its influence over baseball teams. Headline from Rotoworld 10/13/07:
- Mr. Raissman, what the hell business is it of "the media" to push for any damn thing? Get them the hell away from my team. And get some fans with a backbone who don't accept this crap. (sm)
- I realize Mr. Raissman is also a tv celebrity, etc. but his column should have a "corrections" box online and in the paper, with the NY Daily News logo. Readers should be able to access what statements Mr. Raissman has made in his column that have turned out to be inaccurate.
