"Mariano Rivera will be lucky if he pitches at all (in the All Star Game)."--Dibs

A caller to Dibs and Kevin mentioned the ludicrous media hyped idea of Mo starting the All Star game. Dibs said it was an ego-centric idea, the game wasn't about the Yankees, and Rivera would be lucky if he pitches at all, Francona being the manager and the Yankees being their mortal enemy. Too bad this even came up. It is a bad idea for many reasons, but now it's being turned into an ego centric New York issue, when the idea was started by a blogger who runs a high-traffic Yankee blog but is a life-long Red Sox fan (according to what I read on NYYfans.com).
  • P.S. I don't consider the Red Sox a mortal enemy. They're just a little more fun to talk about from time to time. (sm)
