Still Unwatchable-ESPN Baseball Tonight

I stopped watching it a couple years ago for several reasons, checked back tonight and it's still what you'd expect in a totalitarian state such as Cuba where images are strictly controlled. Laughing at this idea is exactly what makes it possible. I'm not speaking about the overall time on the clock they devote to one team or another--it's what they say or don't say, show or don't show. I happened to catch 2 cycles of their bit on the Yankees today. The amount of time they spent on the team as a whole was more than sufficient. You understand, they know everything--in the first cycle they showed Derek Jeter running the bases--like they thought he might fall down, perhaps, saying "Jeter still runs pretty well," and the ESPN jokester then pants a few times like he's about to faint.
  • In the second Yankee cycle, they eliminated the joke about how Jeter can still run, just showed him actually running. In both cycles they spoke about Sidney Ponson. They said he pitched well but made a general comment about him not getting the 'Win.' ESPN did not identify the winning pitcher of the 10 inning 2-1 contest today in either highlight show. A real laugh riot. Why should they? The Yankees certainly don't scare them. This is how a player is eliminated from the "landscape"--just don't mention him, which is what they did.
They did spend time on the closer for another team, giving him both audio and video props, even though he only pitched 1 inning and had a 2-run lead.
  • I decided what my price would be to watch 1 more minute of ESPN today. I wouldn't do it for a penny less than $50,000. No one else will say a word about any of this--they all would give anything to work at ESPN if they're not already doing so.
