The following appeared on google news website but only for a few minutes at the time I saw it, 1:30-1:40AM. It was linked to tbo.com, and did link there but with the message "page not found." I looked on the Tampa Tribune site and the story by this writer headlines local fan support being the edge for Longoria. No mention of voting on Park Avenue. The point is not that he didn't deserve to win. Nor is it that the writer actually accused MLB of voting for anything. The point is what appeared in a story which can no longer be found and suggests behavior about MLB that is very likely. Based on serious things they've done in the past. Most recently, their dictatorial rigging of a Hall of Fame Veterans Award so that Marvin Miller will never get in.
This kind of thing is what MLB and its minions are all about.

I'm just noting here what someone else said. I understand it's 'funny' and 'evidence' and all. As Maury Brown has noted, today's "landscape" has changed. Baseball is awash in money and people LIKE Bud Selig.
- Update 2:13AM, I found part of the above text on google.com, again linking to tbo.com, and again "not found." If the story reappears with these words at some point in the future, I will happily note that on this blog.
