Phil Hendrie on Michael Savage

Phil notes it's not a bad idea to have discussion of a condition such as autism and the lack of uniform diagnostic standards. The main point however is:
  • The group going after Michael Savage doesn't care about autism, they're only interested in making trouble for him because they don't like his political views. They want to get Savage off the air for political reasons.
(ie They state on their site they target 'conservatives' and name certain radio hosts. They don't state that they advocate misdiagnosed diseases or improperly prescribed drugs. It's years too late to claim at this late date that they do so). sm
  • Phil: They tape his show and pick it apart like neo-Nazis, essentially libeling him.
This wealthy tax-free emailing group is Media Matters for America. If you're inclined to be convinced by hateful email mobs, this one's for you. They succeed by reaching people who are vulnerable to emotional response without much looking into the facts. I happen to know about mobs. One closed down my college in 1970 and I spent 6 weeks sitting on the grass with my friends. I never asked questions about it. Between then and now, I decided not to be passive.
  • P.S. Regular listeners to Phil Hendrie's show know he is a longtime liberal democrat. I'm aware Hendrie and Savage have the same syndicator.
