Not generally attributed to Trent Lott

(NY Times, 6/14/07): "The Republican whip, Trent Lott of Mississippi, who supports the bill, said:

• “Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with

• that problem.”

At some point, Mr. Lott said, Senate Republican leaders may try to rein in “younger guys who are huffing and puffing against the bill.”

• (How pathetic, how detached. With all the money and power in the world, with the NY Times, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Fox, etc. at his feet, he blames the relatively tiny world of talk radio). sm
