- The media in this case have chosen a line of work. The big payoff for some of its members comes if a player, likely in his dressing room with half-dressed guys rushing around, says something that can be characterized as controversial. Most players have experienced negative consequences for themselves or their teams as a result of these incidents. If there aren't enough players willing to give quotes, obviously there should be fewer reporters trying to elicit them. It's just not needed. (Not speaking of the author of this Times article, Mr. Araton). sm
