Mike & the Mad Dog downright coy today--Newsday

Newsday: "They expounded on the state of the Yankees, the Mets and summer movies, but Chris Russo and Mike Francesa were downright coy Friday when it came to discussing the future of their 19-year partnership.
  • The hosts of the popular "Mike and the Mad Dog" show were on the air together Friday for the first time since Newsday's Neil Best reported last month that they were headed for Splitsville. The show was broadcast live from the DHL FanFest, and when a Newsday reporter approached WFAN operations manager Mark Chernoff, he said he had no comment.
On the air, the two addressed the story in a two-minute exchange about 25 minutes into the show.
  • "What's new?" Francesa asked. "What's going on? Do you have something to tell me? Tell me now."
Said Russo: "They did say that in the middle of June ... that somehow 'Mike and the Mad Dog' have finished their 19-year run." The two went on to discuss a fight they had earlier in the year. Russo downplayed its significance; Francesa seemed less sure.".....
