On second thought, why even have a post game show?

After the Yankees 2-1 loss to Kansas City, I listened to John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman discuss various missed opportunities and thought who cares? In the most callous, passive-aggressive manner, we've been informed 2008 will be a "breather." That is team members and their families, fans who've spent their last dime to drive to the stadium, the many sponsors who've invested money expecting a return on same. Why go through any of it?
  • This season is a playpen for Hank Steinbrenner to watch "our" Josh Beckett he earnestly informs us.
His father did this kind of thing--ignored or pushed out the door the best talent ALREADY ON THE TEAM while over-spending for something unproven, in George's case, bloated losers not suited for New York. While Hank waits for "his" Josh Beckett, the greatest relief pitcher in the history of the game sits in his bullpen rotting. Not to mention a number of other great players who thought they signed to win.
  • P.S. If I were a sponsor, Hank's words would give me reason to cancel.
