Yankees were 10th in Runs Scored in 1996, 6th in 2000 (AL)
Currently the Yankees are 12th in the AL in runs scored (or tied for 11th). This may bode ill, but 'runs scored' and the 'Bronx Bombers' tag weren't the reason they won in 1996, 1999, 2000, and 2001:
- 1996 Reg. Season 10th in AL runs scored
- In 2002, they were #1 in Runs in the AL, but struck out 366 more times than the eventual World Series winner, the Angels.
- "WE ARE NOT WINNING IN YANKEE STYLE. THESE ARE NOT THE BRONX BOMBERS."
- In the next 4 years the Yankees were #1 or #2 in Runs in the AL, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. Although they made the playoffs each year and were known for offense, it wasn't enough.
