DAHLBERG AIMS FOR WRITERS' WING OF THE HOF---DUMPS ON YANKS

The article's title is "RUNAWAY SALARIES FUN FOR FANS." Got that? WHO DOES HE THINK PAYS EVERY LAST PENNY FOR THIS 'FUN?' THE FANS, but he makes no mention of this small fact. With no new ideas of his own, this reporter dredges up, what else, Yankee 'hatred!' PART OF HIS AMMO TO DEFLECT ATTENTION FROM MATSUZAKA IS.....MIKE MUSSINA!
  • Hey, the politburo has spent the past week using JOHNNY DAMON'S name (or even Abreu's) as an apt comparison with (possibly) signing the Japanese pitcher. (Did Damon have a separate "posting" process?) So, now they come up with Mussina. (Was Mussina posted?)
This "reporter" comes up with some wacky math about Mussina:
  • "Daisuke Matsuzaka will end up costing the Red Sox some $20 million to $25 million a year when he's finally signed in the coming weeks. The hated Yankees, meanwhile, will counter by spending just about the same amount of money per season for Mike Mussina."
First, Mussina hasn't been signed yet (nor has the Japanese pitcher), but sides are reportedly "close" at a figure HALF OF WHAT THIS REPORT IS SAYING.
  • Well, go back to having all your "fun," especially plan to visit this guy Tim Dahlberg in the writers wing of the Baseball HOF. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE MONEY WRITING IN BASEBALL, this is the kind of stuff you put out.
  • AP story from Newsday 11/15/06 (Eddie Andleman has it 100% right).
