Leiter as a LOOGY will come to Yankee camp

The Toms River, New Jersey native has signed a 1 year minor league deal with invitation to spring training. When Brian Cashman said, "Give us our tired, your poor," last year, he had a depleted, injured pitching staff. When asked why he picked up Leiter from the scrap heap, Cashman said, "I needed someone to pitch Saturday night." That ended up being Al Leiter's night in Fenway Park.
