CUBS, ORIOLES CLOSING IN ON PATTERSON DEAL

Team officials are close to a deal sending a minor leaguer to the Cubs in return for the once stellar Corey Patterson, who'd be competing with other Orioles for an outfield position. The Chicago Sun and Baltimore Sun say Corey would've been part of any deal involving Miguel Tejada. He's not part of this deal, but teams are still at work with plans for Miggie.
