Bill Conlin, Philadelphia Daily News, on the Phillies

Says Pat Gillick's having to make adjustments. The team said he'd have a $95 million payroll, but now they're lowering it to $85 million. It was expected they'd put money they saved on the Thome & Wagner deals back into payroll. But, they're going back on that, saying they don't have enough income. Right. Also, Conlin isn't high on Ryan Franklin.
