Seattle Mariners sign Johjima
AP reports the Mariners have signed catcher
Kenji Johjima to a 3 year deal worth 16.5 million.
We await word on details about this addition. The
Show with Dibble & Kennedy has some
interesting re-plays today, including Dale Murphy,
Tommy Lasorda, Tony Gwynn, and George
Genovese. Genovese, once in the Brooklyn Dodger
minor league system, played in the majors for the
Washington Senators. He eventually became
successful as a long-time scout, worked for the
San Francisco Giants, & is currently with the
Dodgers. Genovese tells about fighting his
boss to get teen-ager Bobby Bonds signed.
At the time, Bobby's wife was pregnant with
Barry Bonds.
