Crist, who grew up in St. Petersburg, has thrown out the first pitches in
- three Rays home openers and did the honors at Game 6 of the 2008 American League Championship Series.
He served as general counsel for the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues in St. Petersburg from 1982 to 1987.
