Fla. Governor Crist wild pitch for Tampa Bay a big miss considering it was his 5th time on the mound for the Rays

(Rays spokesman Rick) Vaughn said Crist, who is running for U.S. Senate against Marco Rubio and Kendrick Meek,

  • is a veteran of ceremonial first pitches at The Trop.

Crist, who grew up in St. Petersburg, has thrown out the first pitches in

  • three Rays home openers and did the honors at Game 6 of the 2008 American League Championship Series.

He served as general counsel for the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues in St. Petersburg from 1982 to 1987.
