Tampa coldest winter in 40 years nets 60.8% increase in Tampa Electric Co. income
Tampa Electric is an example of why people in Tampa can't afford to go to baseball games. Teco charges extremely high rates, and is enmeshed in carbon offsets buying and selling.

First quarter revenue was $912.3 million, up from $824 million in the year-ago quarter.
TECO Energy Chief Financial Officer Sandy Callahan said in a May 4 conference call with analysts that
- weather driven sales added $15 million to $20 million to first-quarter revenue.
- Increased rates added another $25 million to $30 million to revenue."...
