Paging Howard Rubenstein-Yankee suits out of their league

Someone should call George Steinbrenner's pr man Howard Rubenstein because the current Yankee front men are out of their league. Asked whether "the Yankees" (whoever that is) will change the new policy excluding average ticketholders from access to batting practice, chief operating officer Lonn Trost replied, Newsday: ""Well, if you purchase a suite, do you want somebody in your suite?'' he said. The concrete border around the Legends Suite has been likened to a moat that highlights the separation of haves from have-nots or, as it has turned out, In the interest of saving the environment from pollution and fans from further embarrassment, present day Yankee suits should avoid public speaking. Only a few years ago they were begging people to come to the Bronx. How could they not remember this?
  • Not that George Steinbrenner's pr guru Howard Rubenstein can fix this mess, but somebody's got to.(sm)
P.S. A commenter to BBTF noted on a similar post there:
I'm so happy that Yankee Stadium is turning into a laughingstock and an embarrassment. I hope those seats are never full and that Lonn Trost and Randy Levine get the firings and public excoriation they so richly deserve. July 14 is the all star game, but the next game after that, I think that in honor of Bastille Day Yankee fans confined to steerage should revolt, storm, the legends suits, tear up the the seats, loot the executive lounge area and break all the windows, etc. aux armes citoyens!"
