Derek Jeter on record saying Roy Halladay is best

NY Times Bats Blog, 7/12/08, Tyler Kepner wonders if Halladay will start the upcoming All Star game:

• "You get the feeling that Roy Halladay might start the All-Star Game, except for one thing – he just might try to finish it. Halladay fired a two-hit shutout at the Yankees on Friday for his seventh complete game this season. Nobody else even has four.

• “He’s probably the best starter in baseball, I would think,” Derek Jeter said.

“You could have thrown an All-Star team out there today, and it wouldn’t have done much with Halladay.”"....

• Jeter told the same thing to Suzyn Waldman as posted on this blog 9/25/08:

'On Yankee radio, Suzyn Waldman notes recent conversation with Jeter in which he relates his opinion that

• Roy Halladay is the best pitcher in the American League.'
