Al Gore continues to bar press from his global warming lectures

As PCMag.com’s mobile phone expert, I'm attending the CTIA Wireless mobile phone industry trade show, where Al Gore is giving a keynote speech in front of 4,000 people. He's barred "press coverage" of the speech, which means people with press passes won’t be allowed in -- though it's been unclear how this applies to the many other people at the show who will have blog-capable smart phones. ...

• CTIA are a generally press-friendly group and say this was all Gore's doing.

From my post 4/14/08: Gore usually does not allow traditional media into lectures he gives on the subject (global warming). There are many trying to make money in the carbon offsets business, Al Gore included.

• From a recent Al Gore seminar, Newsbusters.com 4/11/08, lists company names he promoted:

• "Amyris (biofuels), Altra (biofuels), Bloom Energy (solid oxide fuel cells), Mascoma (cellulosic biofuels), GreatPoint Energy (catalytic gasification), Miasole (solar cells), Ausra (utility scale solar panels), GEM (battery operated cars), Smart (electric cars), and AltaRock Energy (geothermal power)."

His Altra biofuels is at or near bankruptcy, the

• ethanol industry has been such a tragic mistake it's seeking....
• a taxpayer bailout.
