Teixeira not a useful idiot, risks full force of media scorn

NY Times: "As much fun as the United States players have had (in the World Baseball Classic),

• Teixeira is just fine with his decision (not to leave his new employer and fans who are paying him $180 million and for whom he's irreplaceable, to travel with a WBC team).

• “Baseball’s fun; whether it’s your team or the W.B.C.,

• you’re going to have fun,” he said."...

Teixeira doesn't give in to the "fun" idea of robbing his team of his presence and possibly jeopardizing part of his $180 million salary. But hush, Selig, like other wealthy dictators, has stifled free speech on certain issues, such as the WBC. Which is all painless if one is a useful idiot.
