In News Corp. move to NASDAQ, NYSE cites ad spending
"Take, for example, News Corp.'s latest announcement that it will move its stock listing to the Nasdaq from the New York Stock Exchange. Although the move sounds inconsequential on the surface, it may have not been precipitated if News Corp. didn't have The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones. The reason?
- The NYSE claims that the move only took place because Nasdaq promised more advertising across News Corp.'s media properties.
- And in this economic environment, where advertising seems to be a losing battle for media companies, every dollar counts, and some in the industry are becoming more creative and resourceful to attract their advertising dollars and boast the bottom line."...
