Selig should offer Cuban other MLB team if not the Cubs--NY Times
(NY Times): "If you could fuse the best of the Steinbrenner boys — Hal’s more-thoughtful business acumen and brother Hank’s competitive zeal — you would have a reasonable facsimile of (Mark) Cuban, except with a less liberal political lean and more formally dressed."***
- It's believed MLB would not allow Cuban to own the Cubs, so the Times' writer suggests MLB allow Cuban to buy another club in need of an owner with a pulse:
- How about Pittsburgh, Cuban’s hometown, where a new stadium has failed miserably to deliver on the standard promise of a competitive product?
- ***If they're less liberal politically, they do their best to hide it. They allowed an Obama rally to be held at Steinbrenner Field. You can't be in Tampa and do more for liberals than that. And if they didn't know about it, that classifies them as airheads AND liberals. (sm)

Thanks to Polly for noting Cuban has been charged with insider trading. I can't post links here at this time because of safety concerns. But thanks for contributing the update. Susan.
