John Henry worried Yankees will have so much money--Ed Randall, WFAN

Ed Randall says this during the first portion of his baseball show on WFAN in New York. I stopped listening to his program long ago as I tired of his deep bias against the Yankees as they exist today. Bud Selig would highly approve of Randall's agenda, a feature of which is whining and practically breaking down about how much (alleged) money the Yankees have. I turned on his show today and heard more MLB/Selig/Henry talking points as one does across ESPN and the rest of baseball media: emotional, high pitch attacking Yankee finances (without mentioning a source for such claims). Ed also incorrectly portrays the Yankees as a blockbuster winning team far ahead of everyone else. (Result: misplaced envy and hatred for an organization floundering without a leader for the foreseeable future and a losing team).
  • His words approximated the following:
  • The YANKEES are moving INTO AAA... B-A-NNN-KKKK.
  • THEY WILL MAKE OTHER TEAMS EVEN MORE INCONSEQUENTIAL THAN EVER.
  • THEY HAVE SO MUCH MONEY.
  • JOHN HENRY EVEN SAID HE'S WORRIED THE YANKEES WILL HAVE SO MUCH MONEY.
Right. Does Randall have access to the Yankees' books? Does he know the Yankees themselves have become inconsequential compared to other teams with little hope of turning it around in the near future? Yankee attendance only became what it is after at least 8 consecutive years in the post season. That whole experience is over. So John Henry has nothing to worry about. I'm pretty sure he already knows that and was just posturing.
