Yankees hit into 4 double plays tonight v Rangers

Alex Rodriguez grounded into 2 double plays in the Yankees loss to the Texas Rangers. They were no match for Rangers pitcher Matt Harrison (7.40 ERA). Fans will not pay enormous sums to see this kind of team for more than a year or two, contrary to what continues to be stated in the media. Fans are disgusted.
  • Then you have the 2009 World Baseball Classic, which Derek Jeter, Arod other Yankees will no doubt play for. Expect injuries, we must sacrifice, is the line. Take that thought to its logical conclusion and you have no team left and you still have to pay.
Any player who donates his time to the WBC should refund his team of origin. And/or, fans should be able to designate ticket purchases as charitable donations eligible for income tax deductions. Considering all the deals MLB teams including the Yankees have used to gain tax advantages, this would be peanuts.
  • They didn't sell those tickets until they had 8 straight years in the post season.
  • The Yankees don't sell seats when they lose. This year will be the first time out of the post season since 1995 , the beginning of their 13 year run. Since there was no post season in 1994, 1993 was the last year they were absent from the post season, noted in previous post today.
