NY Times lets you think Grimsley & Stanton were 'named' while Yankees
George Vecsey of the George Mitchell Gazette (aka the NY Times) opens with the usual kind of generalization you see these days about the Yankees. One that's just left hanging there allowing the average busy person to believe one thing when another is true:
- (NY Times): "Through these gates (Legends Field) have passed many of the great Yankees — Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte, Chuck Knoblauch, Mike Stanton, Jason Grimsley and Jason Giambi, all of whose names were bandied about on C-Span and ESPN on Wednesday."
- Just for the record, the first occasion in which Mike Stanton's name was mentioned (for a purchase which he's denied) was in 2003 WHEN HE WAS ON THE METS.
- Jason Grimsley's checks to Radomski were from 2001-2005 during which time he was not on the Yankees.
- Quote from NY Times article by George Vecsey, "The Frosty Reality of Spring Training," 2/14/08
