Cameraman who injured Mientkiewicz was hired by YES Network--NY Post

"Now the question is how much does Doug Mientkiewicz's left ankle hurt
  • after a freelance cameraman hired by YES stumbled and rolled into the Yankees first baseman's foot that has screws in it from a minor league injury years ago.
....When Mientkiewicz, who suffered the injury about 1:30 p.m. while departing the team bus, started last night's Game 1 of the ALDS against the Indians at Jacobs Field, he was believed to be OK. When Joe Torre used Shelley Duncan to hit for Mientkiewicz in the fifth inning with the Yankees trailing, 4-2, it appeared the first baseman was hurt. However, that wasn't the case. "He came out because we're down in the game and I was trying to get something started," Torre said. "Hopefully, he will be all right."

"If it looked like I was hobbling around it didn't feel like I was hobbling around," said Mientkiewicz, who popped out in the second inning in his lone at-bat. "I felt totally fine."

As for the freak accident, Mientkiewicz felt sorry for the cameraman, who was sent home by YES brass."

("YES brass?" Hiring a "freelance" cameraman who injures your own player? Another example the YES Network is not Yankee quality. The YES Tin Men care about themselves, not the Yankees). sm
