Joe Christensen must not read the papers
In yesterdays's column about his Twins, Joe correctly notes they're catching the Yankees "at a good time," citing injuries, starting pitcher woes, etc. Hoping for juice for his column, Joe then says:
- "One can imagine owner George Steinbrenner bouncing off walls. He's not known for his patience, and his team started the previous three seasons 8-11, 10-14 and 1-4."
- Christensen, well entrenched, knows he can say whatever he wants with no chance of negative consequence. That's what it's like in the BBWAA.
