It's common sense the Communist Chinese and the swell China "lobby" are lying. WARNING: (NOT FOR THE BRAIN-DEAD OR EMPLOYEES OF MLB, INC.)

I'M A LITTLE SICK OF HEARING ABOUT CHINA. HOW ABOUT WE FIRST FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET OUR OWN YOUNG PLAYERS FROM OHIO TO FLORIDA WITHOUT GETTING KILLED ON A BUS THAT DROVE ALL NIGHT? AFTER THAT, YOU WANT FANS, MLB, INC.? LET US HEAR THE DAMN GAMES INSTEAD OF WITHHOLDING THEM LIKE WE'RE DROOLING IDIOTS. P.S. THIS ISN'T A "DEBATE."
  • "China still runs a command-and-control economy.
  • And it's anything but transparent. The West has no way to confirm the numbers the Beijing apparatchiks feed us, even as we hitch our fortunes closer to theirs." (Like I said).

"We accept unblinkingly China's reports of 10% GDP growth at our own peril. Sure, it's "red hot." But how real is it? How much is just inflation? What share is military spending? No one bothers to ask. (Isn't it amazing how Chinese growth always comes in faithfully at 9% or 10%, just as advertised, no matter the global economic cycle?)

The China lobby tells us its client's economic growth is a "miracle," and the media echo the hype. Well, maybe we're starting to see that it is, indeed, too good to be true. Maybe it's more like the mirage critics have warned us about, market reforms or not."

From the article in Investors Business Daily (sorry, only tells the facts, not a Commie rag), 3/1/07, editorial, "Cooking the Books in Beijing."
