Dibs and Kevin anxious to get beyond anything about Yankees

Mike and Chris inform Torre that Sheffield threw him under the bus, but Torre doesn't exhibit any aggravation about it which is very annoying. Fans can't root for a team where the inmates run the asylum. Absolutely no comments like his should be tolerated by a manager or owner. It's got to stop.
  • Dibs is upset the Yankee news has been taking away from the teams still playing.
  • Kevin says George did a great favor to MLB by settling the Torre issue early as it allows attention to flow to other teams.
I never thought of it like that--that the Yankees should time their most crucial decisions with a view to publicity needs of other teams. This is worse than I thought. For Dibs, Kevin and others, the Yankees don't exist except as a source of revenue ($100 million this year to other teams in revenue sharing and luxury tax). The media continue their deep-seated bias and often total ignorance about the team and what goes on there. The key is that THEIR pals are on other teams.
