Joe Mauer's father marketing 'Quickswing' hitting device
Joe's father invented the device, a twisted tube that Joe says has helped him a lot. Sales have been going well in the midwest, but they've been turned down so far by
some national chains like Target. I was surprised that the National Sporting Goods Assn. deemed baseball a shrinking sport, saying 8% fewer people played baseball in 2005 than did in their 2003 survey. Of course, the local writer has such an inferiority complex that his whole article builds up to
dump on--who else--Derek Jeter. His source for his negative remark about Jeter was an
anonymous comment made on an amazon.com site.
