Marchand's Memo of the Week to ESPN from the NY POST

"Dear ESPN-ERS: You can all add a new line to your resumes: Cell-phone salesperson. If you are Dan Patrick or Karl Ravech or whomever at ESPN, if someone asks you what you do for a living, say, "I sell cell phones.'' These days, SportsCenter, Baseball Tonight and ESPN Radio are all inundated with announcers hawking ESPN Mobile. ESPN, we get it. You want us to buy your cell phones. Now, leave us alone. The Memo and its staff aren't picking on ESPN. We are constantly watching and listening to ESPN content, but we are sick of the toll booths. You beat us over the head with Monday Night Football ads and cell-phone promos. Can you tone it down? The Memo doesn't blame Patrick, Ravech, et al. What are they going to do, quit? They are just following company orders. But they all have to know that, these days, ESPN stands for the Entertainment and Sell Phones Network."
