Both agree the World Champs got even better: both like Rob Makowiack at 2B, Jim Thome provides potential of lefty bat that was lacking. Conservatively estimate him to do .260 with 30 HR. Giving up Aaron Rowand shows the owner has confidence in Brian Anderson who spent all of '05 in AAA. If he doesn't pan out, they have Jerry Owens to back him up. Javy Vazquez is better than his 4+ ERA would indicate, will have better defense in Chicago, has changed his grip on his fastball. Brandon McCarthy is ready to start now, but may not get a chance unless someone else moves down.
