Orioles pitcher Bruce Chen on XM discusses working with Leo Mazzone

Bruce says Leo doesn't believe in long tossing for his pitchers--just practice throwing the 60 foot distance you'll have to throw from the mound. Chen will be reunited with Mazzone, having worked with him at the Braves. Leo doesn't emphasize pitch counts & exact preparation times, but what feels best for each pitcher. Bruce speaks highly of new closer Chris Ray, but admits BJ Ryan was a big loss. Says, "It's easy to get to 1st place, but it's hard to stay there." Thinks Jeff Conine will be good influence on the club as well as LaTroy Hawkins & Kevin Millar. Sam Perlazzo has already done well, having brought Mazzone over.
