Thom Loverro, Wash. Times on Nationals, Orioles
On the Nats, says Jose Vidro isn't tradeable, has injury &
high contract. Brad Wilkerson was their biggest chip, but
they only should've moved him for a pitcher. In that park,
they need a slew of hitters like Nick Johnson, not free
swingers like Soriano. Move was in part made following up
MLB's Bob DuPuy's ridiculous recent assertion, "The Nationals
are not hamstrung." Loverro mentions not many teams were
beating down the door to get Alphonso. He might want to
rethink his act going into free agency. On the Orioles: no
matter what they do, with Angelos as owner, the team will
not work. Tejada's normal cheerful demeanor couldn't
keep up after Palmeiro's treatment of him.
