2014 Yankee ratings on YES show improvement from 2013-Neil Best
"The 2010s have seen a steady decline in Yankees ratings on YES, bottoming out last season after a 31-percent drop in viewership during the Bombers’ playoff-free campaign.
But thus far in 2014, things are looking up, with an average of 283,000 viewers per game tuning into YES, a rise of 24 percent compared to the All-Star break last season.
Still, that is a far cry from, say, 2007, when games on YES averaged a whopping 454,000 viewers. Even a late playoff run this season like the one the Yankees managed in ’07 will not generate that kind of average, but it certainly would help.
As will the hype leading up to Derek Jeter’s final regular-season games, which could be the only reason to watch Yankees games come late September if they do not start strongly in the second half." Tweet Stumbleupon StumbleUpon
