Yankee Yangervis Solarte gets first major league home run and first John Sterling home run call. Update, 5/9/14, John Sterling keeps same tag for Solarte second home run

Update, 5/9/14, Yangervis Solarte hit his second home run as a Yankee in the top of the 4th v Milwaukee Brewers, this time for 3 runs. John Sterling kept the same tags, "Never Nervous Yangervis" and "Solarte, whoa whoa...," the latter delivered musically and rhyming with the tune, "Volare."

4/17/14, Third baseman Yangervis Solarte hit his first major league home run Thursday night v Tampa Bay Rays. The two run home run in the top of the 9th gave the Yankees a 10-2 lead which was the final score. Following is John Sterling's call:

"Swung on and drilled to deep right, that ball is high, it is far, it is gone! Nevvver Nervous Yangervis! Solarrrrr-tay..... whoa whoa, Solarrrrrr--tay, whoa whoa ay oh...He drills a two run home run to right field and the Yankees take a 10-2 lead. His first major league home run."

After the call Mr. Sterling thanked David Cone for the "Never Nervous Yangervis" reference. The second portion of the call was delivered musically and references the tune, "Volare" which topped the Billboard list in 1958.
