Hank Aaron compares Republicans who oppose Obama to KKK

GOP Spkr. and Obama, May 2011

"Baseball Hall of Famer Hank Aaron compared Republicans that oppose President Barack Obama to the Ku Klux Klan.

Speaking to USA Today Tuesday on the 40th anniversary of his then record-breaking 715th home run, the 80-year-old Aaron said that Republicans are hindering Obama’s job performance.

Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he’s treated,” Aaron told USA Today Sports.

Aaron continued: The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts.

Aaron stated that there is still room for improvement for race relations in the U.S.

“We have moved in the right direction, and there have been improvements, but we still have a long ways to go in the country,” Aaron told USA Today Sports."...via Lucianne

Comment: Mr. Aaron, you've fallen for spin. Republicans actually love Pres. Obama and want the same things he wants. If they sometimes pretend to oppose Mr. Obama or democrats it's just to try and fool Republican voters. Republicans can't stand voters. Republicans and Democrats are on the same side. The GOP very badly wanted Pres. Obama to be re-elected.

GOP House Speaker Boehner was desperate for Pres. Obama to be re-elected. Boehner told Republicans they "lost badly," it was time to do what Obama wanted:

Mr. Aaron, there's only one functioning political party today. If a Republican looks like he's going to win, other Republicans sabotage him. These people have been a joke for decades.

Added: Hank Aaron does have family interest in politics. He's the brother in law of Democrat Rep. David Scott of Georgia.  Unfortunately, in 2008, Rep. Scott was named among the 25 most corrupt members of congress by a liberal democrat watchdog group called CREW that more often blames Republicans for corruption. More on CREW: "Likewise, a Democracy Alliance [rich liberal democrat group, per Wash. Post] blessing effectively jump-started Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). It bills itself as a nonpartisan watchdog group committed to targeting "government officials who sacrifice the common good to special interests." Alliance officials see CREW as a possible counterweight to conservative-leaning Judicial Watch, which filed numerous lawsuits against Clinton administration officials in the 1990s."
