Many demands on Boomer Esiason's voice-commenter

"The FAN misses an opportunity," Posted by Steve on December 05, 2012 at 10:51:47:, NY Radio Message Board

Ed. note: A thread started about a recent edition of WFAN's morning show. One of the follow-ups noted Boomer Esiason has many demands on his voice:

I agree with Allan re: Boomer's voice.

Also, likely contributing to Boomer's hoarseness is his autumn schedule where
  • he does the national radio call of Monday Night Football for Dial Global.
To his credit, he rarely (if ever) misses a WFAN morning show on a Monday or Tuesday - from what I've heard on-air, Boomer usually
  • flies to the game site on Monday morning after the morning show
and then flies back to New York immediately after the game (I believe via private plane).

In addition, Boomer
  • appears on Sundays on CBS TV's "NFL Today" from Noon-1pm and can be on as late as 7 - 7:30pm for post-game(s) analysis.
  • He also co-hosts the 30 minute radio show "NFL Preview" each week on Dial Global (heard on WFAN Sundays at 7:30am).
Add in Esiason's charitable work on behalf of cystic fibrosis (his 21 year old son Gunnar has the disease) and it's no wonder his voice is worn thin. I'm surprised he's been able to maintain this pace over the years."
