Former Twins manager Tom Kelly ranks among all time greats-Bill Madden

1/28/12, Bill Madden, "That was a nice - and appropriate - gesture on the part of the Minnesota Twins, retiring former manager Tom Kelly's No. 10 . If Kelly hand't persevered, managing the Twins through all those losing, rebuilding seasons that left him with an unimposing 1,140-1,244 lifetime record, he'd be a candidate for the Hall of Fame. Make no mistake, though, he was one of the all-time best, managing the Twins to world championships in 1987 and 1991 while compiling the most wins of any Twins manager in history and nurtured the careers of Kirby Puckett, Kent Hrbek, Dan Gladden, Gary Gaetti and Tom Brunansky and so many others who came up through the Twins system."
