Sal Licata out at WFAN-Neil Best, Bob's Blitz

6/16: "WFAN operations manager Mark Chernoff just confirmed to me that Mike Francesa's board operator, Sal Licata, is "no longer at the station."

• Chernoff declined to comment on the reason Licata was let go.

As a listener I got the impression Mike Francesa really liked Sal. Bob's Blitz reports that Francesa did try to save Licata from getting the ax, but apparently he had said something to offend a sponsor. ed.

• Of interest, the sponsor in question is said to be Connecticut School of Broadcasting, which I hope and trust is a successful concern.
