Vin Scully on a unique Manny

Vin Scully on Dodger radio says of Manny's .838 slugging % in first 9 games:

• 'No one has ever produced a higher slugging percentage in 9 games.'*

He later mentions this includes his going 0 for 5 in a game in San Francisco. This of course doesn't include Manny's performance in tonight's game, his 10th as a Dodger.

• *I'm guessing Mr. Scully is using regular season stats in this-as has been accepted practice in the past. There are now 3 levels of post season play, which wasn't the case for many years. It will eventually become accepted to say, for example, "9 regular season games." This form acknowledges the existence of post season stats. Currently, players' post season stats are often ignored in recitation of their 'career' stats. Obviously, this is disingenuous and penalizes the player.
