Tom Hicks gets credit

On San Diego Padres radio today, they said the person most responsible for today's salary structure in baseball is Tom Hicks because of the contract he gave Alex Rodriguez. One of the 2 voices in the discussion was Ted Leitner and I'm guessing the other was Jerry Coleman (it was a mature voice). He wasn't identified while I was listening and media releases term the guys 'broadcasters' without necessarily identifying them as '2008 radio' guys (except in the case of Leitner). The third voice was young and extremely chirpy as is often the case today .
  • I haven't heard Hicks noted in this connection for a long time. It would be unfair for his contribution to be forgotten.
