Hank finally decides to show up at the Stadium.

(Kepner, NY Times): "In the owner’s box, Hank Steinbrenner was making his first appearance
  • at Yankee Stadium
This behavior is an indicator why the Yankees will not see the post season for years to come. They will lose money and have less to throw out the window at corrupt MLB owners. Which is good. And baseball writers covering the team will have diminished celebrity. George Steinbrenner is no longer available to sell copy.
  • Whether Girardi's game decisions were all his own is unknown, but if they were, he clearly lost the team a couple of games. Joe Torre, being his same old self, would have done better. Not that Dodgers' management is perfect, but at least Torre doesn't have to deal with oblivious fools like Hank Steinbrenner and the man still behind the curtain, Randy Levine.
