MLB.com should know Rivera did it in 2004, 2005 and 2006

(MLB.com): "Rivera said that he had not considered what it might be like to jog to the mound in the ninth inning with World Series home-field advantage on the line.
  • "I haven't thought about that yet, but I know definitely it is going to be special," Rivera said. "I hope we have the opportunity to be ahead and have the chance to close the game and experience how it is going to be.""...
Mariano Rivera has already done the job in "meaningful" All Star games (post 2002) in 2004, 2005 and 2006. , getting the last 3 outs in 2004 and 2006, and brought in by Terry Francona for the final out in 2005. He was apparently too polite to correct the reporter. It was a long enough article, plenty of space to get it right.
