Double Standard is costing fans
I've searched and found no speculation as to how Paul Byrd would be received at the team's home opener or when he comes in to pitch. Whether he'd be cheered, booed, what percentage of each, etc. Byrd is a huge star of the Mitchell Report, $25,000 worth, a thousand units of HGH, hundreds of syringes. And wouldn't deny he was still using it in October 2007. And here.
- On the other hand, SI.com runs an AP story brimming with speculation as to How Andy Pettitte would be received at Yankee Stadium. For a total of 4 syringes, 2 in 2002 and 2 in 2004. They wrote their perception of how he was received at team introductions and speculated how he'd be received when he takes the mound at the stadium. And they reviewed again what has happened to Andy, taking care to bring in Clemens, etc.
- Passivity has serious consequences--like everything else.
