Phil Hughes and Melky were never on the table--Bill Madden, NY Daily News

On WFAN with Mike and Chris, Bill Madden says contrary to reports, Phil Hughes (and Melky) were never on the table to trade to the Twins. That is, not for 2 days or 2 months. Bill said Hank first wanted to acquire Santana, called up Cashman, but Cashman said he didn't want to let go of Hughes. Hank then said he didn't want to go against his GM and didn't pursue it.
