Nothing new--Yankees are keeping Phil Hughes--NY Times- "the Newspaper"

From NY Times, Tyler Kepner, 1/15/08: Hank talks, Hal doesn't, but each has input and Hal says the budget can't handle it. Cashman's plan, to which fans have become attached, is still in order.
  • (Since a baseball writer has put out a fake story and is not to be trusted, will he be called before Congress? Will he lose his job? Why should he have a job if he's a fake?)
  • Only thing I didn't like in this article is Hank gives "the media" a mention in how the team gets built. Hank, who gives a flying leap what those guys think. Geez.
  • They damn your players on your TV network, on radio, internet and newspapers, damn the franchise, order you to get Santana, then will blanket land, sea, and air with how vile you are for adding so much to your payroll. They're phonies, Hank. They don't work for you, their future is as a celebrity, in protecting their own fraternity, not with helping your team. Keep them off the property if possible.
