- A sentimental flowery piece by Richard Sandomir with the title, "A Tough Investigator Calmly Defends His Report." This is the opposite of what took place. Mitchell's report of necessity couldn't possibly bear fruit of a tough investigation, but mainly that of a drug dealer's plea deal.
I don't suggest he was out to get the Yankees or save the Red Sox. BUT THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. AS JON HEYMAN SAID TONIGHT, IT WAS JUST 'BAD LUCK' FOR THE YANKEES. A New York drug dealer's plea deal may have been the best he was able to get, but there were no Red Sox on Radomski's list. (Gagne's name had been known before)
- Mr. Sandomir, this pal of yours is so "tough" he left off Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa, took 20 months, and earned millions for his law firm. And reportedly is going back on the payroll of the Red Sox.

- P.S. If Mitchell weren't a longtime friend of Selig's, a baseball insider on the Red Sox payroll, would articles like this even be necessary?
