• Tyler Kepner: "Not that the Red Sox aren't sincere, but they've played this very well." ( re: the Santana charade). Later in general terms: "It's customary in trades for teams to ask more from the Yankees than other teams. I've even heard the A's want Hughes and Kennedy for Haren."

(In a previous post today, I noted Nick Cafardo said the Red Sox will use the same tactic against the Yankees vs Haren as they are in the Santana deal).
